Amphibians & Reptiles
There are presently four species of amphibians at Bamff:
Common Frog
Common Toad
Palmate Newt
Smooth Newt
..and one species of reptile:
Common Lizard
These have all benefited greatly from habitat creation afforded by beaver activities. So much so that annual mass migrations of frogs and toads are a regular sight at Bamff.
The beaver habitats are now being considered for reintroductions of the endangered Great Crested Newt. Slowworms and adders have not been recorded at Bamff, but we hope for natural spread from nearby populations, and would welcome reintroductions.
