Mammals

A wide variety of wild mammals are found at Bamff.

In addition to the long established beaver population (go here for more info on our beavers) common sights include roe deer, hares, rabbits and red squirrels.

A vast badger set is located by the Burnieshed Burn – a sprawling cavescape on the steep bank that is virtually inaccessible to humans.

The wetland areas, hugely enhanced by the beavers, have cause a marked increase in the presence of insect eating mammals, most especially bats.

But our most prominent mammals are the natural grazers which help to catalyze the rewilding process.
